Why Doctors Write Books

I’ve had a couple of clients recently from various fields of medicine.

I have a surgeon writing a guide for his patients on how to prepare their bodies for surgery in order to guarantee the quickest recovery. I have another surgeon who's at the cutting edge of using quantum energy at a cellular level to help the healing process.

The interesting thing is not only that both my authors love what they’re writing about. They also both see medicine as something that’s constantly changing, and they’re excited to keep up with it. They’ve gone way beyond best practice to embrace new technologies such as genetics. They want to lead the charge and establish themselves as leaders in fields that are still developing.

That helps their patients, of course. And it also helps them.

Establishing their credentials more widely in a book will attract more fee-paying patients, if they’re in private medicine. It will attract the interest of other physicians, who will come to them to learn more. It will make their names better known and give them more opportunities to spread their message.

And it will help medicine keep advancing.
