Repeat Authors
Writing books should come with a health warning.
Of the first 15 authors whose books I wrote, five decided to write a second book. One is nearing completion, two are in the works, and two are awaiting a good time to start.
None of the authors set out intending to write more than one book, but they realized a number of things.
• Their first book has measurable impact in raising their profile, establishing their authority, and amplifying their brand
• They have far more to say than they imagined they had
• They love the positive feedback they get from promoting their book
• Readers often ask them specifically to write another book
• Writing a book with a ghost writer is relatively easy—and is often a lot of fun
Whatever reason someone has for writing a second book, the fact that they choose to repeat the exercise is evidence of one thing:
Telling your own story in your own words can be addictive.
