what’s My ROI?

I was negotiating with an author once when we got down to within $5,000 of each other. He kept telling me, “I can’t see the ROI.”

If he couldn’t see it, I certainly couldn’t see it. It’s not my role to tell authors why they’re writing their book.

It did make me think, however, about what some of the authors I’ve worked with identified as their ROI.

• Social culture expert – raise their expert profile in the media ✅
• Recruiter – invitations to speak on college recruitment circuit ✅
• Business thought leader – global speaking opportunities ✅
• CEO – attract personal invitations to join boards ✅
• Independent investor – attract investment opportunities ✅
• Surgeon – put patients at ease before treatment ✅
• Lawyer – position law firm as field-leader ✅
• Political advisors – preserve contribution to a historical event ✅
• Resort developer – pass on a remarkable life story to their family ✅
• Business coaches – win new contracts by sharing their program ✅

If you know your ROI and you think a book might be the best way to achieve it, let's talk!
