What Form Shall I Use?

Business books come in a whole range:
• Step-by-steps
•Practical guides
• “How-I-did-it” accounts
• Coaching programs
• Musings and theories
• Parables, or seemingly unconnected tales that spell out lessons for the reader

All those forms serve the same purpose.

They all deliver information that's of value to the reader.

How they do that is usually related to why they do that. There are many possible “whys”:
• to raise the author's profile in a chosen field or business
• to develop a funnel of business leads
• to open doors and gain introductions
• to establish authority and trust
• to become an acknowledged authority
• to lead change and debate in a particular field

Once you know your “why,” the form of your book will follow.
