How Do I Find My ReaderS?
Will anyone read my book?
The bitter truth is that no-one will read your book if they can help it.
All your readers have far better things to do than read your book … or any other book. There are always chores to do, kids to be fed, errands to run, TV shows to watch, exercise to enjoy, family and friends to talk to.
To get a reader to look at a book, you have to give them a real sense that they're going to learn something. To get them to read your book over other books, you need to give them a real sense that your book will teach them more than the other books they could be reading read.
It’s not as challenging as it sounds if you know your reader back to front. When you plan your book, have them in your mind's eye. Figure out what their problems are likely to be, and then write the book that will solve those problems for them.
If you’ve solved the problems yourself, it’s going to make your solutions irresistible.
And then people will read your book.
