Beat the Fear
One fear probably prevents more authors from starting their book than any other…
"But I don't have anything original to say."
That's probably true. But it doesn't matter.
There are very few books that are completely original.
Most business books combine the author's experience with learnings from thought leaders like Simon Sinek, Pat Lencioni, or Jim Collins.
There's no shame in this. Most of those guys also pick up ideas from other writers.
The best business books package a common-sense idea in a way that makes it easy for people to apply in their own lives.
Any business book is a digest of useful information the author has gathered from their own life and work, from their studies, and from other thought leaders.
The key is to put the information together in the right blend for their intended readers.
• The value doesn't come from being original.
• The value comes from being unique.
